Since I will be walking into a room and see the plumbing every time I go in there, maybe.

They have thin wall and sch40 both I believe.

So why not make it stand out more with bright colors :P

Paint it black Doogie. Dont be afraid of the Krylon fusion and then get black sch40 fittings from Savko.  *thumbsup

Doogie,

We're all kinda just busting your chops (cuz we can!)...if it's not colored PVC, it's overflow/standpipe style, or which LED's we prefer.  What we never lose sight of is our love of the hobby, and the darkside, of course.

Oh...FWIW, I'm not a fan of paint either... :-D

I agree with the Krylon Fusion. I have used it on tons of stuff that goes in/on the tank including, pvc, eggcrate, rocks, etc.

I used furniture grade PVC in our tank, and also behind it, since some of it is visible.  As for the difference, here is where I got mine, and they explain the pros of using it (though not tank-specific uses):
Furniture Grade PVC - FORMUFIT.

It still follows the Sch. 40 and Sch. 80 sizes, it just has no markings (is in color) and is UV resistant, which is important for the exposure to our lights.
